Bible studies
There will be a five week series of creative Bible studies led by the Revd Jay MacLeod on Old Testament Characters and Christian Mission in Multi-Faith Britain. The course will help participants grapple with inter faith issues.

Core Skills Training
Core Skills training continues with each Core Skills module being creative, thought-provoking, interactive and designed to inspire and refresh you, whether you are new to church children’s work, thinking about it, or already have some experience.
Book for the full course or individual modules: Child Development, Leadership Skills, Programme Planning, Children & Community, Pastoral Awareness, Spirituality & the Bible. Additional modules on request are: Young Leader, Special Needs, Global Dimension, Transitions.
This can form part of an accredited course.

A new series will begin over six Wednesday evenings starting 22 April until July 8th, 7.30pm - 9.30pm at Wymondham Abbey School Room:

• Pastoral Awareness June 17
• Spirituality & the Bible July 8
It will cost £13 for the complete course (inc course book) or £4.00/module (does not include course book).

Pastoral Visiting
Specialist speakers will share their experiences of Hospital visiting; Bereavement visiting; Prison visiting; Parish visiting . Each session will look at what is distinctive about each context, and the personal qualities required. The sessions start on Tuesdays 8,15,22,29 September, 7.30-9.30pm at St Mary’s, Peterborough.

Living Faith - Rushden
Living Faith modules are open to any Christian who would like to learn more about their faith. You need not have done any academic study before but you will need a reference from your church minister or a tutor who has taught you recently to say that you would benefit from study this level. The student group will include those training as Lay Pastoral Ministers, Licensed Evangelists and Readers in the Diocese of Peterborough, as well as members of other churches.

The modules will consist of 6 taught sessions and there is a fee of £40 per person, payable on booking.

Those being held at St Mary’s, Rushden, 7.30 pm will be:
15, 22, 29th September,6, 13, 20th October 2009 OM1 Introduction to the Bible and Study Skills - What the Bible is and how to get into it.

Multi Faith World
This course is concentrating on the presence of and Engaging in a Multi Faith World. It is a 3 day training course happening at St Philip’s Centre in Leicester. The objectives for this courses are how we learn from other faiths but also be aware of our own distinctive identities, what is an appropriate approach to mission within a multi-faith world, how do we account for the evident goodness and piety we see in people of other faiths, what of issues of truth… of grace… of salvation. These courses are planned on:
1. 6th, 13th and 20th November 2008
2. 3rd, 4th and 5th February 2009
3. 19th, 20th and 21st May 2009
4. 13th, 20th and 27th October 2009

Making friends with Paul
Making friends with Paul (Passion for God)is a four week course exploring together the writings of St Paul,led by Andrew Rayment on Mondays 2, 9, 16, 23 November, 7.30pm at Bouverie Court, Northampton. 6, 13, 20, 27th January, 3, 10th February 2010 OM6 The Christian God—Introducing Christian doctrine by examining the doctrine of God and the Trinity.

7, 14, 21, 28th January, 4, 11th February 2010 OM7 Ethics—Responding to Moral Issues - A framework for examining ethical issues and helping participants to understand a variety of Christian approaches.

7, 14, 21, 28th January, 4, 11th February 2010 OM9 Worship and the Sacraments - Examining the key role of worship and the sacraments in the life of the Church through exploring their Biblical and historical roots.
